Terms of use

effective 2026-10-06

rate is an app where you rate anything out of five stars, say why, and see how your taste lines up with your people. By signing up or using rate you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. They're short; please read them.

No tolerance for abuse. rate has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. We remove content that breaks the rules below and ban the accounts that post it.

Your account

What you post

Your ratings, the lines you write, your replies, your photo and your bio are yours. You give us permission to store them, show them on rate as your settings allow (public by default, or only to the people you approve if your account is private), and use them to make rate work — including sending them to the AI services that write the oracle's reads and answers, as the privacy policy describes. That permission ends when you delete them or your account.

A rating is an opinion. Say what you think about a film, a place, a person's public work — but don't post things about anyone that you know aren't true.

What's not allowed

Don't post, and don't use rate to send, anything that:

Don't try to break, overload or get around how rate works, and don't scrape it or other people's data.

Reporting and blocking

Every rating, review, reply and profile on rate has a ··· menu with report and block. A report is anonymous: the person isn't told who made it. A person reads every report, and we act on reports within 24 hours — removing what breaks these rules and banning the account that posted it. Blocking someone hides you from each other on rate straight away. You can also write to [email protected].

The oracle

The oracle's reads, plans and answers are written by AI from your ratings. They can be wrong. They're for fun and ideas, not professional advice — check opening hours and details before you go somewhere.

If things go wrong

We may suspend or remove an account, or remove content, that breaks these terms. rate is provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free; as far as the law allows, woorlds isn't liable for indirect losses from using it. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the law where you live.

If you got rate from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard licence terms for apps also apply.

Changes

When these terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and say so in the app if the change matters. Questions: [email protected].
